Blues Traveler's Popper Hospitalized; Band Cancels July 4th Shows

Blues Traveler frontman John Popper was hospitalized on the west coast on Thursday after complaining of chest pains he'd been suffering for the past three months.

Doctors ordered Popper to stay put as an in-patient so that they can run tests on him.

Unfortunately, Popper's hospitalization comes on the eve of Blues Traveler's annual Fourth of July weekend performances at the Red Rocks Amphitheater outside of Denver. The band has been a regular attraction at the venue for the past seven years.

This year's dates, which had been scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, have now been canceled.
