Singer Mary J. Blige attended a rally in St. Louis on Friday to protest the recent shooting of two unarmed African-American men by white police officers during a recent drug raid at a metro-area restaurant.

Some 200 protesters turned up for the event, a 3-mile march from Kinloch Park to a Jack In The Box eatery in Berkeley, where Ronald Beasley and Earl Murray were fatally shot by police and DEA agents on June 12.

According to "The St. Louis Post-Dispatch," Blige originally planned to appear in the march, which was organized by the Rev. Al Sharpton's National Action Network, but instead briefly joined the rally in Berkeley. The singer did not publicly address the crowd at the demonstration, but she did speak to both Beasley's and Murray's families.

A St. Louis grand jury is currently reviewing evidence in the shooting, which occurred while Beasley and Murray were sitting in Murray's car outside the restaurant. Officers claim they were justified

in firing on the vehicle because Murray attempted to run over police during the raid.

After appearing at the protest, Blige performed on Friday night at the Fox Theater in St. Louis and received keys to the city from St. Louis and Kinloch politicians.
