May 12 [12:00 EST] -- After a lawsuit, an injunction, and much hullabaloo, tickets for the June 15 appearance of Ozzy Osbourne¹s Ozzfest at New Jersey¹s Meadowlands will go on sale this Saturday. Tickets for the all-day metal fest are $40, and will finally become available at 9 a.m. on May 17.
Officials with the New Jersey Sports and Exhibition Center, which governs the Meadowlands, had refused to sell tickets to the event unless Ozzfest participant Marilyn Manson was dropped from the bill. The Meadowlands had expressed concern about security issues surrounding Manson¹s appearance.
In response to the venue's attempted ban, Manson, Osbourne, and New Jersey concert promoter Delsner-Slater filed a lawsuit against the Center. A judge then granted an injunction filed by Manson and his lawyer that barred the Meadowlands from interfering in the band¹s contract or ticket sales.
Last week, the Meadowlands said that it was considering filing an appeal, but then announced
that it would open its box office doors to Manson fans.
