While The Grammy Awards are being handed out on February 25 in New York, a very different sort of music will be getting under way in San Francisco.

It's the Sixth Annual Noise Pop Festival, featuring Frank Black, Imperial Teen, Apples In Stereo, The Fastbacks, and Flaming Lips. Various acts will play different venues on different nights during the five day festival.

One highlight is bound to be the Flaming Lips show on February 28 at Bimbo's. The show is called "Boombox Experiment Number Four." It will be something similar in their 1997 album "Zaireeka." It was a four record set designed to have all four discs played at once, on four separate stereos.
