Barenaked Ladies Talk Dream Endorsement From Prince, Plan Next Video

The merry Canuck pranksters known as the Barenaked Ladies have toured nonstop since July in support of their multi-platinum album, "Stunt," which spawned the group's Grammy-nominated hit single "One Week."

The Ladies are currently on the road in Germany, but will return to the states to make an appearance at the Shrine Auditorium for this year's Grammy Awards ceremony on February 24. MTV Europe recently caught up with the boys of the Ladies, who joked about the kind of reception the album has gotten from their peers.

"In the words of my good friend Prince, 'Buy Stunt, my favorite album of 1999,'" offered the Ladies' Steven Page.

"It as really nice to get his endorsement," Ed Robertson continued, "because he has such a tiny beard."

"That's the thing," Page chimed

in, "because now, the artist formerly known as Prince is doing so much of the press, the actual Prince has a lot of time to listen to records. He's not very public a figure, but he listens to our stuff and loves it."

"He's a big fan," [28.8 RealVideo] Robertson added.

While in the States, the Barenaked Ladies will also be filming the video for "Call and Answer," the fourth planned single from "Stunt," that will also turn up on the forthcoming soundtrack to "Ed TV."
