September 26 [10:00 EDT] -- Singer, writer, producer, and all-round emperor of pop Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds was joined by Maxwell, Lenny Kravitz, Sheila E, and Stevie Wonder in New York on Wednesday at a benefit dinner for the "Phoenix House" drug rehabilitation program.

Edmonds was due to tape an edition of "MTV Unplugged" Thursday night, and the benefit (which honored MTV President Judy McGrath) turned into something of an all-star rehearsal, with Sheila E. on drums behind Babyface, and Stevie Wonder joining in too [article id="1438644"][800k QuickTime][/article].

Babyface and Stevie Wonder were to repeat their duet at Thursday night's taping of Babyface's "Unplugged" special.

As we reported earlier this week, Babyface up his productivity level even more Friday when he releases his first movie "Soul Food.

The film, the first from the production company Babyface runs with his wife Tracey, is a family drama starring singer Vanessa Williams

and Viveca A. Fox, Nia Long, and Meki Phifer.

Not too surprisingly, Babyface oversaw the "Soul Food" soundtrack, which features tunes by Puff Daddy, Boyz II Men, Dru Hill, Blackstreet, En Vogue, Tony Toni Tone, and Outkast.
