Anthrax Added To Megadeth-M&#246tley Cr&#252e Tour

Anthrax has signed on to the pending Megadeth/Mötley Crüe tour and has also taken on new management, joining Guns N' Roses on the roster of Doug Goldstein's Big FD Entertainment.

Goldstein confirmed to MTV News that he's now handling Anthrax and that the band will be joining Mötley Crüe and Megadeth on a 48-city tour of North America beginning June 24 at The Gorge in George, WA, and wraps up September 2 in Pittsburgh, PA (see [article id="1431997"]"Megadeth Plans New Album, Mötley Crüe Tour"[/article]).

According to Anthrax rhythm guitarist Scott Ian, it's not known at this point who will be handling the lead guitar duties. The band previously toured with guest guitarist Dave "Snake" Sabo from Skid Row, or alternately, Paul Crook (see [article id="1424939"]"Anthrax And Sebastian Bach Swap Guitarists"[/article]).

Sabo is touring with Kiss until the end of the year, while Crook, who has been on the road with Sebastian Bach,

hasn't yet been ruled out.

Anthrax also includes singer John Bush, bassist Frank Bello, and drummer Charlie Benante.

The group intends to write new material while on the road and emerge from the extensive jaunt ready to start serious work on a new album for the Beyond label, which housed its greatest hits package, "Return Of The Killer A's," released last November.

Goldstein has kept a traditionally small roster in the past, for the most part limited to mega-client Guns N' Roses. Goldstein told MTV News that he decided to take on Anthrax because they were old friends (they've known one another for at least 15 years, says the manager) and he loves the band.

Ian joked to MTV News that the band signed with Big FD first and foremost to get a Guns N' Roses tour jacket, adding that the group had known Goldstein almost as long as they have been together and respected and trusted the manager.

Anthrax left Concrete Management under very amicable circumstances and with the

company's blessings, Ian added.
