Aguilera Looks To Puffy, Timbaland For New Album

Singer says she'll begin recording new LP in February after taking January off

While Christina Aguilera was cranking out a Spanish-language CD and a holiday collection, her 1999 debut went multiplatinum this year — but the singer doesn't plan to coast on those efforts.

The Grammy-winning singer is already planning her next album, which she hopes to begin recording in February.

"I'm getting many, many ideas for the next record," Aguilera said Friday, during an interview in New York. "I can't wait to sink my teeth into it and really get going on it, because it's going to be a whole different project. I'm really excited to get into it."

Aguilera plans to reach out to some high profile production help to shake things up.

"[I'll have] a lot of different collaborations," Aguilera said. "I'm going to be working with a lot of people. Puffy [Combs] actually called me the other day to get on it, and I'd love to be working with Timbaland too, and a lot of different producers."

A spokesperson for Aguilera's record label, RCA, confirmed that Aguilera spoke to Combs, and that she would work with multiple producers on the album.

Aguilera said she plans to release the album in spring or summer, and that she plans to support it with a world tour.

Aguilera also said she will take January off, probably in a sun-drenched locale, such as Jamaica or Puerto Rico.
