Wallflowers, Vertical Horizon To "Deck The Hall"

The Wallflowers and Vertical Horizon will bring a little Yuletide cheer to Atlanta this weekend, as both bands have been tapped to perform at a fund-raiser for a local food bank.

Sponsored by Atlanta radio station WNNX and Bass Ale, the 2000 edition of the 99X Deck the Hall Ball is set for the Atlanta Civic Center on Saturday and will include an opening set from Los Angeles newcomers Paloalto.

Concertgoers are being asked to donate three canned goods apiece, and the collected food and money will be donated to the Atlanta Community Food Bank, a charity group that helps distribute food to non-profit agencies assisting hungry people in the metro-Atlanta area and north Georgia.

Last year's event featured performances from Kid Rock and Oleander and brought in more than 7,600 pounds of food and $27,000 in ticket sales, according to a public relations associate for the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
