Hard-rocker Henry Rollins will host "Night Visions," an upcoming series on Fox scheduled to premiere Oct. 6, according to DreamWorks Records. Rollins, who recently made a spoken-word special for Comedy Central, will be the only recurring character on the show, which is in the style of "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" and "The Twilight Zone." ...

Creed postponed two shows planned for Friday and Saturday (Aug. 18–19) in Clarkston, Mich., because of a hand injury suffered by temporary bassist Bret Hestla, according to a band spokesperson. Hestla, who replaced departed bassist Brian Marshall earlier this month, will play the rescheduled shows with his band Sept. 7 and 9. ... Pearl Jam don't need any more volunteers to register voters at shows on their North American tour, a spokesperson said. The group posted a note on its Web site last week offering free tickets to volunteers and had more than enough responses to fill all the openings. ...

The Smashing Pumpkins have posted a director's cut of their new video, "Try, Try, Try," on their Web site. Country singers the Oak Ridge Boys and Christian rockers Petra are among this year's inductees to the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, the Gospel Music Association said in a statement. Anglo-Indian percussionist Talvin Singh, who won Britain's prestigious Mercury Prize last year, is among the contributors to a compilation album consisting of work by this year's nominees for the prize. Mercury 2000 also includes tracks by Asian Underground guitarist Nitin Sawnhey, former Verve singer Richard Ashcroft and electronic dance mavericks Leftfield. This year's award ceremony will be televised Sept. 12. ...
