Lucy Pearl Add Dates To Summer Tour

R&B supergroup will play three shows, two in California and one in Arizona, with soul singer D'Angelo.

R&B supergroup Lucy Pearl will follow their late-spring outing with at least five more shows, according to the band's publicist.

The trio followed the release of their self-titled debut with a series of nine shows on both coasts, as well as an appearance on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno." They will continue to support their new album with a July 21 appearance on "The Late Show With David Letterman," followed the next day by a concert at Irving Plaza in New York.

After a July 23 show in Washington, D.C., Lucy Pearl will head West for three shows with soul singer D'Angelo. More shows may be added later, according to Rebecca Rosen, a publicist for the band.

With Raphael Saadiq of Tony Toni Toné, Dawn Robinson of En Vogue and Ali Shaheed Muhammad of A Tribe Called Quest, the group blends elements of hip-hop, soul, classic rock and funk.

The first single from Lucy Pearl, the upbeat "Dance Tonight" (RealAudio excerpt), reached #42 on last week's Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. Songs such as "Hollywood" (RealAudio excerpt) display a rock influence, with heavier use of guitars than is typical in R&B songs.

Aug. 3; Phoenix, Ariz.; Celebrity Theatre (with D'Angelo)
