Hanson To Take This Time Around Around
MTV News Online
Almost two months after releasing their latest album, This Time Around, the brothers of Hanson have lined up a North American tour in support of it.
The band has played only a string of radio shows and a few dates to support the disc. Now the group will take to the road in earnest starting July 27 in Tulsa, Okla. Hanson have tentative dates lined up through late October.
The band currently rules MTV's "Total Request Live" roost with the single "It's Only" (RealAudio excerpt), but Hanson turned to such classics as Steppenwolf's 1968 hit "Magic Carpet Ride" and Janis Joplin's 1969 chestnut "Piece of My Heart" during a show at San Francisco's Fillmore Theater on Tuesday. About 900 fans jammed the concert, which was filmed for DirecTV. (Sonicnet.com's parent company, Viacom, also owns MTV.)
Hanson tour dates:
July 27; Tulsa, Okla.; Tulsa Performing Arts Center
Aug. 1; Vancouver, British Columbia; Queen Elizabeth Theatre
Aug. 4; San Francisco, Calif.; Warfield Theatre
Aug. 8; Los Angeles, Calif.; Wiltern Theatre
Aug. 12; San Antonio, Texas; Sea World U.S. Map Amphitheatre
