Zeler Lim are a French hardcore rap duo associated with the Tous Illicites Production label who made their collaborative album debut in 2009 with Évolution Urbaine. While Zeler was a newcomer to the French rap scene at the time, LIM (born Salim Lakhdari on July 29, 1979, in Boulogne-Billancourt, France) was a well-established superstar whose last solo album, Delinquant (2007), had topped the French albums chart. LIM began his recording career as a member of the group Mo'Vez Lang. Founded in 1992, the group is part of the larger Beat de Boul collective of Boulogne rappers. While Mo Vez Lang made their commercial recording debut in 1995 with the song "Poison Juvénile" on the Les Cools Sessions, Vol. 2 compilation, it was their song "Original Futur Style" on the Dans la Sono EP by Beat de Boul in 1997 that established them as a group on the rise. A couple years later Mo'Vez Lang was featured on the Beat de Boul album Dans la Ville (1999) and made their full-length album debut with Héritiers de la Rue (1999). LIM eventually embarked on a solo career, releasing the mixtapes Violences Urbaines (2002) and Double Violences Urbaines (2004). He then made his full-length album debut with Enfant du Ghetto (2005), which was followed by a collaborative album with Alibi Montana, Rue (2005), and another mixtape, Triples Violences Urbaines (2006). In 2007 LIM rose to chart-topping success with Délinquant, a double-disc smash hit extravaganza. In 2008 he reunited with Mo'Vez Lang for the group's long-awaited second album, Associés à Vie. LIM then teamed up with Zeler for Evolution Urbaine on the Tous Illicites Production label. Zeler, who had been featured on Délinquant, was relatively unknown at the time and saw his reputation bolstered by the association with LIM. While falling well short of the blockbuster commercial success of Delinquant, Evolution Urbaine nonetheless reached the Top 20 of the French albums chart and spawned the single "Bebebest." ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi
