Alfie Zappacosta began playing guitar and writing songs as a teenager. He led the band Surrender from 1979-1983 and recorded a self-titled solo debut in 1984. Two of his singles were Canadian hits, and Zappacosta's second album, A-Z, followed in 1986. Four years later, he released Quick...Don't Ask Any Questions.
