About Walk off the Earth

Walk Off The Earth is an unconventional, multi-talented five-piece musical phenomena that is currently taking the world by storm. Based in Burlington, Ontario (just outside of Toronto), their brilliant 5-people-playing-one-guitar interpretation of Gotye's "Somebody That I Used To Know" recently exploded on Youtube garnering well over 35 million views in under 2 weeks. The massive fan response quickly drew attention to their collection of innovative songs and videos spanning their last 5 years and generated an unprecedented flood of media interest. New fans from around the world immediately fell in love with the band's organic, independent, sincere and honest original songwriting, cover interpretations and beautifully filmed videos. For the past 5 years, the band has built a massive following of dedicated fans from around the world through their unique and heartwarming approach to songwriting, filming and constant, open interaction with everyone their music touches.

The chemistry between the members of Walk Off The Earth is undeniable. Marshall, Sarah and Gianni's individual vocal stylings mesh seamlessly with Taylor's haunting harmonies and keys all the while soaring over epic melodic arrangements held together by Joel Cassady's driving and prolific percussion work. Their independent spirit, unstoppable work ethic and awe-inspiring creativity has catapulted Walk Off The Earth into new and uncharted waters with only bigger and better things on the horizon.

UPDATE!
Walk Off The Earth have announced that their Columbia Records debut full length R.E.V.O. (an acronym for the band’s motto “Realize Every Victory Outright”) will be released on March 19. The album features their immensely popular cover of Gotye featuring Kimbra’s “Somebody That I Used To Know” (which was the most-viewed cover song of 2012, and the #2 YouTube video of 2012), as well as 10 original songs, including “Red Hands,” “Gang of Rhythm,” “Speeches,” and “Summer Vibe” from this summer’s preview EP. The band’s original tracks have been incredibly well received, with videos for each of the already released songs quickly surpassing the million-view mark. The full track listing for R.E.V.O. is below.

After finishing 2012 on many year-end lists with their 140-million-viewed Gotye cover, the group is poised to start 2013 with yet another viral hit. Walk Off The Earth’s a capella take on Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble,” featuring the beatboxing skills of fellow Canadian Terry “KRNFX” Im, has passed 3 million views in less than a week, was featured on the Today Show, and was even noticed by Taylor Swift herself, who shared the “SO unbelievably cool” video on Facebook and Twitter.

Walk Off The Earth features multi-instrumentalists Gianni Luminati, Marshall, and Sarah Blackwood on vocals, Taylor on keyboards, and Joel Cassady on drums. WOTE have an incredibly loyal fanbase, with over 990k subscribers to their YouTube channel and over 634k fans on Facebook. The band gained notoriety for their creative multi-million-viewed YouTube videos ranging from a cover of the Weeds theme “Little Boxes” to Adele’s “Someone Like You” to their wildly popular cover of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used To Know” with all five band members playing one guitar, which has been viewed over 143 million times and landed the group a performance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Walk Off The Earth have brought their energetic live show around the world, including a well received set at this summer’s Lollapalooza and sold out headlining shows in cities from NYC and LA to Toronto, Tokyo, Singapore, London, and Paris.
