I lived in Clearwater as a kid and moved back in the late 70"s. By that time, I had been working in New York for a couple of years, doing commercials for radio & tv, as well as giging at night with a few bands. It seemed like a good time to make a move before burning out. After four years of New York winters, I really missed the Florida sunshine. A few weeks later I was working full time in a group from Tampa. I rented a condo in Clearwater...pool everyday till 3:00 pm... blue skies... sunshine...God I love Florida! I still go back to visit family and friends, that's why most of the songs titles are about Florida and have a latin, tropical,
caribbean sound, that seemed to fit the titles.
N.Y., NY – ISLAND SANDS RECORDS is thrilled to announce the release of the

In The City, available everywhere on 1-2-2013.
A Jazzy Rock Fusion CD, with Latin and Caribbean overtones, come together in
this modern progressive instrumental CD". Captiva, Standards of Love, Red Tide
and Islands in the City round out this crisp, well produced jazzy rock fusion CD.
“We found Rick Marshall playing at the St. Croix Jazz and Caribbean Music and
Art Festival. This main event draws top-notch jazz and Caribbean musicians. Mr.
Marshall's songs were infectious and invigorating, swaying the audience into
spontaneous dancing, it was an all together enjoyable experience.”

“I wanted to do something different with both marimba and vibes, something
original that you don't hear very often, while keeping the songs commercial
enough for today's listening audience. If I had to describe the sound I was
looking for...maybe Caribbean, or Miami Jazz might be a good description.”
