Formed in Toronto, Canada, Outmatch came together when high school friends Martin Acosta (vocals and guitars) and Mike Kovac (bass) met up with Kyle Lazenka (drums) and Jay Formosa (guitar and vocals). The band built a following quickly in the Canadian metropolis, attracting the attention of noted producer Justin Gray. Gray then helped the band on the road to fame by steering them towards -- surprisingly -- Germany, where they linked up with producers the Bermann Brothers, who in turn helped the band get signed to Maxi Media in 2005.
