The New Klezmer Trio is a group of three high-caliber musicians who make klezmer-rooted jazz -- often with quite a rock edge. Electric bassist Dan Seamans occasionally uses effects pedals that are more often found in thrash rock than jazz, clarinetist Ben Goldberg sometimes plays "fender reverb clarinet," and versatile percussionist Kenny Wolleson performs as comfortably in the role of wailing rock drummer as he does jazz time-keeper and marimba player. ~ Joslyn Layne, Rovi
