Four years ago as a 17-year-old, under the wing of DiLeo, Manika moved from her hometown Las Vegas to Hollywood where her musical career blossomed. That first summer, Manika headlined Pepsi’s Shop Till You Rock Tour across America. She also performed live at radio stations across the country, performed live on local and national TV, and performed at many schools and malls across America. Some major venues Manika headlined or performed at include the Hollywood Style Awards, the nationally-televised Hallmark Hollywood Christmas Parade, the popular Girl Scouts’ 100th Anniversary Tour, and Kiss FM’s Wango Tango. A year into her career, Manika performed at sold-out arenas in over 20 cities across North America, touring with the most popular boy-band in the world – One Direction.
Following her 1D Tour and the sad death of her beloved manager Frank DiLeo, Manika took a hiatus from her hectic touring schedule and moved back to her hometown Las Vegas to dedicate a year to writing and co-producing over 100 songs. During this intense songwriting project, Manika discovered a breakthrough sound — blending high-energy EDM dance-pop elements with urgent and poignant rap. Her electrifying ode to her hometown, Vegas Party, debuts her breakthrough sound. Vegas Party gets released to Top 40 radio and the club scene this month. Party people in Vegas can gyrate to Jumpsmokers’ thumping remix of Vegas Party in the Vegas nightclubs and dayclubs!
This winter you can watch Manika on Discovery’s Fit & Health network and at 400 theaters nationwide through Fathom Events. She headlines her songs on the reality TV show/international beauty competition Global Beauty Masters/Battle of the Strands. Moreover, the reality shows are scored to Manika’s vast number of songs.
Manika has previously released three singles, and all three became Top-40 hits: 1) Just Can’t Let You Go featuring Young Money’s Lil’ Twist, 2) Good Girls, and 3) My Way…from her debut album MANIKA (Double Album). The three hits peaked at number 29, 33 & 33 on the Billboard Top 40 Airplay chart.
Prior to her musical success, at age 15 Manika wrote and published The Exciting Adventures of BOO, a 144-page children’s book. The first printing of 8,000 books sold out and two more printings followed. Manika donated $15,000 of her book sales to the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and served as their teen spokesperson. Manika also devoted many days reading her book to inner-city schoolchildren and young cancer patients across the Las Vegas Valley. Manika’s second 328-page book 1,2,3…Publish Me! will be released this fall. Her second book teaches her own secrets to those who have the dream of becoming published writers. Manika plans to write a third book about her touring experiences and what it takes to become an entertainer.
Manika actively participates in charity causes. In her hometown of Las Vegas, she led the bike drive for 98.5 KLUC’s annual Christmas Toy Drive…breaking the record for the number of bikes donated. Manika performed (at her own expense) at the safe-texting event for KRUF-FM in Shreveport, LA. Manika had her picture taken for the well-known NOH8 Campaign. She attends anti-bullying causes. She helped build a house with Habitat for Humanity. And she donated countless hours and raised $15,000 as a 15-year-old for the ASPCA. Someday, Manika plans to start her own charity for under-privileged children.
