About kCAne MarkCO
kCAne's mom would join her husband for those gigs and kCAne would help with the loading, hook up and unloading of the really heavy equiptment. He was only 6 at the time this started but by 11 he had become very strong for his age as one would imagine. One the days when his step dad would prepare a set for the weekends show kCAne would listen intently at what was hot for the day. And when his dad wasnt lookin he would try to mimic what he had seen him doing. Djs in those days had to spin and engage verbally with the crowd like Kid Capri. So thats what kCAne did. But he did it while rhyming. He later found out this was called free-styling.
When his parents got divorced, kCAne fell into a depression that some say he never awoke from. He became violent, anti social, but his grades never dropped. Being that he lived in one of the most violent parts of Saint Louis during a time when the city was the Murder Capital for 4 years straight, I guess its easy to understand why. Survival instincts and depression can make a bad mix. Or good depending on how you look at it. It was at this point that kCAne bio dad came back into his life. As a Sage like guide to hard streets teaching him lessons of how to live to be an OG one day and not fall as just a statistic. Question is was it too late?
There's a lot more to kCAne's story, a journey if you will. I wont ruin it here, listen to the music they are there.
