Jonathas, the Austin-based, Rio de Janeiro-born r&b singer/songwriter truly started from the bottom. Spending one month on a ship with his mother when he was four years old to migrate to the U.S. Learning English through movies and music, he quickly gained a love for the arts. In the beginning, Life in the United States was anything but easy for him and his family; at one point they lived in a car and ate leftovers from the customers his mother served at a local restaurant in Austin, Texas. Over the next 10 years Jonathas would find himself moving back and forth from Houston and Austin, Texas. While living in Houston, Jonathas would discover his gift, and become one of the regions top voices; He would go on to lead his middle school choir to multiple UIL titles, as well as taking lead of his Church Choir by the age of 14. In Austin, at the age of 15 years old Jonathas dedicated his life to MUSIC; writing and recording in a homemade studio in a friend’s garage. Fast forward a few years later to the age of 24, and Jonathas has worked and performed alongside some of the best in Urban/R&B music today; Supporting acts like Ne-Yo, The Dream, Pleasure P, Lyfe Jennings, Hip-Hop/Rap legends Snoop Dogg & Bun B; as well as a long list of Texas favorites Slim Thug, Trae, Z-Ro, ESG, Paul Wall, Chamillionaire & Dorrough. In 2010, Jonathas was featured as the only R&B act on the SXSW 'Best of Texas' Showcase lineup. Two years latter, in 2012 VIBE Magazine simply put it this way "Not a bad start, at all." In addition, Jonathas has worked twice as hard behind the scenes; penning for a number of production teams such as Grammy Award Winning J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, DJ Khaled's We The Best Producers The Renegades, & Atlanta hit maker KE.
