The girl group the Gemz were formed after Sammi-Jack, Margaux, Sarah, Carlie, and Samantha were seen in a regional production of The Sound of Music in Coral Gables, FL, by a team of local talent producers. In 2004 their self-titled EP came out, followed two years later by their debut full-length, Blue Is for Girls. That same summer, the Gemz (who at the time of their record release ranged from 11 to 15 years old) promoted their album by touring summer camps on the East Coast. ~ Marisa Brown, Rovi
