Flying

The Brooklyn-based lo-fi Flying create songs from a junkyard of instrumentation -- including broken pianos and old accordions -- which is balanced by fragile vocals. Coinciding with the unconventional songwriting, visual artist Sara Magenheimer met Eliot Krimsky when she was building a two-headed dog from snow and met Eben Portnoy just after he was injured in a bike accident. The Massachusetts natives added Mike Johnson on drums. Recorded at homes, beaches, fields, and barns, Just-One-Second-Ago-Broken Eggshell is the debut album, its title taken from a quote by Buckminster Fuller.
