David Evans-Uhegbu, better known by his stage name David Evans or alter-ego of similar occupation JungleBoy is a Nigerian-born singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer and record executive, whose organic musical style incorporates elements of Afro-Pop, soul, reggae, world, hip-hop R&B and ballads. In addition to singing lead and backing vocals, Evans often plays all instruments, mixes and further engineers all his music himself when recording. Although Evans is only bi-lingual he is credited in numerous songs of multiple languages including English, Igbo, Yoruba, Pidgin and Shona. Even though David plays piano and keys more than any other instruments, and produces mostly pop oriented music, he names the electric guitar as his primary instrument and live music as his most important source of inspiration, while citing artists such as Wyclef Jean and John Mayer as well as Lauryn Hill and Damian Marley amongst many as key influences in his own pursuit of musical recognition. His lyrics reflect events in his life in regards to love, money and relevant social issues.
