About Agents of Oblivion

The Agents' two songwriters, singer/guitarist Dax Riggs and lead guitarist Mike Sanchez, were both members of the cult favorite Southern metal band Acid Bath up until they split following the death of their bassist, Audie Pitre. Rounding out the Agents' lineup were drummer Jeff McCarty, bassist Alex Bergeron, and pianist/keyboardist Chuck Pitre (no relation to Audie). The group's lone album, a self-titled CD on Rotten Records, came out in early 2000. Vaguely resembling a heavier version of early '70s David Bowie or T. Rex, the album received scattered acclaim, but as with Acid Bath, Agents of Oblivion attracted relatively little notice outside of the South. They broke up shortly thereafter. ~ William York, Rovi
