Perry Farrell, Cibo Matto, Sean Lennon To Play Jubilee 2000 Show
Perry Farrell continues to work on a new solo album, but he will take a break from the project next week to participate in a benefit show for the Jubilee 2000 program being held at the House of Blues in Los Angeles on June 14.
For the show, Farrell will take to the stage under his occasional electronic guise, DJ Peretz (see [article id="1428874"]"Perry Farrell To Make Fashionable DJ Debut"[/article]). Joining Farrell for the concert will be Cibo Matto with Sean Lennon, DJ Scott Hardkiss, DJ Scott Daniel, the Swing Brazil Dance Troupe, and poet MC Medusa.
As we previously reported (see [article id="1434999"]"Bono Plans G8 Event To Cut Third World Debt"[/article]), the Jubilee 2000 campaign is seeking to have leaders of major nations cancel the debt owed to them by some of the world's poorest countries as an act of goodwill and as a way of celebrating the oncoming millennium.
Farrell will also travel to the World Leaders Summit in Cologne, Germany
on June 19 to help Jubilee supporters form a human chain around the city of Cologne. Bob Geldof and Radiohead's Thom Yorke have agreed to participate in the peaceful demonstration as well.
