Need To Know: Taylor Swift Stuns, Miranda Lambert Wins At ACM Awards

Movie Awards Takeover Week kicks off today while 'Captain America' celebrates a record-breaking weekend.

Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban Win Big At ACM Awards

The Academy Of Country Music Awards handed out three trophies each to Urban and Lambert, the latter of which got some extra applause from husband Blake Shelton who, along with Luke Bryant, hosted the show. George Strait won top honors as Entertainer of the Year, but it was Taylor Swift who really triumphed, standing out on the red carpet in a cut-out crop top and a skirt with a thigh-high slit.

Movie Awards Takeover Week Is Here

Grab some (golden?) popcorn and cozy up on the couch. Movie Awards Takeover Week kicks off tonight (April 7) and continues through Friday, with exclusive interviews and clips from the stars of the biggest upcoming blockbusters, including "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," "22 Jump Street," "Hercules," "Neighbors" and "Blended." After that, you'll be ready for the 2014 MTV Movie Awards, hosted by Conan O'Brien, happening live on Sunday, April 13 at 9 p.m. EST.

Mickey Rooney Dead At 93

The legendary Hollywood actor died on Sunday in his Los Angeles home. Rooney, who began acting as a toddler in his family's vaudville act, was known for classics like "National Velvet" and "Breakfast at Tiffany's." He's more frequently recognized these days as Gus, the charming co-conspirator of Ben Stiller in "Night at the Museum."

'Captain America' Tops Box Office

Raking in over $300 million world wide, 'Winter Soldier' broke a box office record for an April release, trouncing the previous record-holder 'Fast Five.' $96.2 of that came domestically, which is 47% larger than the original 'Captain America' opened with in 2011. Did you catch all the easter eggs in the flick? The last one makes us real excited for 'Avengers 2,' out in 2015.
