Adele's '25' Sets A New Record For First-Week Sales

Wait, she sold how many copies?!

Adele, you done it.

According to Billboard, her new album 25 sold 3.38 million copies in the U.S. in its first week, making it the largest single sales week since Nielsen Music began tracking point-of-sale purchases in 1991 and crushing N*SYNC's record for No Strings Attached, which sold 2.42 million in its first week. Boom.

The 25 album already knocked Taylor Swift's 1989 out of the top spot for the biggest selling album of 2015. It sold a measly 1.8 million copies, comparatively.

The record-breaking, nay, record-shattering sales could be in part due to the face that 25 was not made available on streaming services like Spotify or Apple Music. Sales were almost split 50/50 between physical and digital copies, according to Hypebot.

Two questions remain: Is there anything Adele can't do? And how many more records could she sell if she gave the people what they want and finally collaborated with Drake?
