Speaking as someone who is not a twin, I have to imagine that one of the greatest thrills of having an identical twin is being able to switch places with them. After all, it’s something that’s happened in basically every movie or TV show ever made involving twins, from “Switching Goals” to “The Parent Trap."
But does that actually happen IRL? When you’re as crafty and cunning as Dylan and Cole Sprouse, the answer is apparently yes.
As you probably remember, the former “Suite Life of Zack and Cody” stars graduated from New York University in May, where Cole studied archaeology and Dylan majored in video game design. But to spice things up on their big day, the 22-year-olds pulled off the ultimate senior prank.
“We actually received each other’s diplomas,” Cole admitted in a recent interview with Teen Vogue.
“In fact, if you look up my graduating photo you’ll see,” Dylan added. “We just decided, you know, there’s no reason not to. No one’s going to notice.”
History (a.k.a. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen movies) has taught us this move should’ve ended with disastrous consequences and grand life lessons about not deceiving others. But Dylan and Cole pulled it off seamlessly, natch, and now have an awesome story to tell about duping a prestigious institution in front of thousands of people.
Stay cool, Sprouses.
