Hear Meghan Trainor Assume Her Hip-Hop Alter Ego On ‘Watch Me Do'
The second single from Thank You comes loaded with rap references
Meghan Trainor has released the second new single from her upcoming album Thank You, and she’s still not taking any crap from anyone.
“Watch Me Do” follows the step-by-step rejection guide “No,” which just got a snazzy new video. Those ‘90s hip hop throwback vibes are in stronger force here as Trainor takes tips from Destiny’s Child on how to best out-brag your enemies. She even pronounces “breast-eses” like Jay Z on Beyoncé’s “Drunk in Love."
“I’ve been on that low hater diet,” Trainor sings before launching into a verse full of hip-hop references (the phrases “type of way” and “in my DMs” both show up multiple times).
Hear “Watch Me Do” below.
