Swizz Beatz wants to clear the air of speculation that Alicia Keys had anything to do with his separation from his wife, Mashonda.

"I can no longer ignore the harmful rumors, that my friend Alicia Keys is in any way linked to my marital circumstances or to the decision that Mashonda and I have made to separate," Beatz told UsMagazine.com. "I am disappointed that some have chosen to try and tarnish Alicia's reputation by irresponsibly implicating her in a situation that she has absolutely nothing to do with."

The rumor that the producer and the Grammy-winning singer are together has been making the rounds since June. At that time, Swizz told MTV News that the two only ever hooked up in the musical sense, when he produced her track "Teenage Love Affair."

"You start commenting on that sh--, then they start twisting it out. I'm not gonna speak about nothing," he said. "I'm not hiding anything. I can see if I was hiding something. I'm a grown man. Nobody is living no perfect life."

Now the father of two is asking the public to give him some space. "This experience has been one of the most difficult times in my life," he told Us. "And as was stated when we announced our separation several months ago, I ask that you continue to respect my privacy in dealing with this personal matter."
