NEW YORK -- After a month on the road, the Aokify America Tour finally made it to New York on Friday. At Hammerstein Ballroom, Steve Aoki, Waka Flocka Flame, Borgore and special guest Pharrell Williams proved why the energetic lineup has been causing a stir in every city it's hit -- and there are many more dates still to come.
MTV News caught up with the gang to get the scoop on what's been going down offstage. No stranger to touring, Steve Aoki explained that this bus tour has quickly become his favorite. "It's not only a dynamic crew -- I mean, artists, crew that we have on tour -- but we all really get along together; we're all like a family unit," he gushed to MTV News. "It's like a traveling circus."
Waka Flocka Flame told us the trip has been so wild, he feels like he and his tourmates have started a new fraternity. The craziest thing the frat has done yet? A game of paintball that got a little competitive. "People were leaving bleeding and with sores," he described. "Fortunately, I was dominating throughout the whole thing. I was called the 'predator' ... it was that serious."
Aside from a fun game, it gave the group some time to bond. "Paintball -- that was the best thing ever right there. It showed me a lot of a sense of humor in both," Waka shared.
The guys all denied any clothes swapping or other roommate-like behavior of that sort, but they did divulge that they are all attempting to adopt Aoki's strict CrossFit routine and have been making some music on the road. Borgore and Waka have a new single out called "Wild Out" featuring pop singer Paige, and Aoki and Waka recorded a party song together on the road, appropriately titled "Rage the Night Away," that you can catch at any of the remaining tour dates.
