Grinding was every teacher and parent chaperone's worst nightmare at school dances. They tried to prevent it, but when hundreds of teens are packed into one poorly air conditioned, dimly lit gym, anything can happen. (My school tried to combat grinding by keeping all the lights on. It didn't work very well.)
