It looks like Amy Adams will finally get her chance to to play the late, great Janis Joplin on the big screen. "Janis Joplin: Get It While You Can" cast America's Sweetheart into the role over four years ago, but the long-developed project laid in waiting until now.
"Dallas Buyers Club" director Jean-Marc Vallee has been picked up to helm the biopic, originally scripted by writers Ron and Theresa Terry. Deadline reports "Dallas Buyers Club" scribes Craig Borten and Melissa Wallack are negotiating to rewrite.
A distributor has not been finalized, however the film is slated to begin shooting mid-2015.
