Offers Pour In To Ban Trump From St. Petersburg, The UK

Leading Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump unleashed a wave of protest on Monday night when he called for a "total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country's representatives can figure out what is going on." While the Mayor of St. Petersburg, Florida, jokingly tweeted about barring Trump from the city "until we fully understand the dangerous threat posed by all Trumps" and a neo-Nazi group reportedly applauded the comments, American Jewish groups called his remarks "deeply offensive" and presidential rival Jeb Bush called Trump "unhinged." Nearly all of the other GOP presidential candidates also lambasted his quote and there is an online petition calling to ban Trump from the UK for hate speech.

The San Bernardino Shooters Were 'Radicalized' For A While

As investigators continue to piece together the story of the couple who killed 14 and wounded 21 in the attack at a San Bernardino office building last week, the FBI has found that Syeed Farook, 28, and wife Tashfeen Malik, 29, had been radicalized for some time. They had also been to gun ranges to take target practice in the area several times, including just days before the attack. "We have learned and believe that both subjects were radicalized and have been for quite some time," the FBI's David Bowdich said Monday. "The question we’re trying to get at is how did that happen and by whom and where did that happen? And I will tell you right now we don’t know those answers."

Yale Professor Quits Over Halloween Flap

Just months after her e-mail about Halloween costumes caused a huge backlash on the Yale University campus, professor Erika Christakis has made a "voluntary decision not to teach in the future"; her husband, fellow professor Nicholas Christakis, has also announced he will go on a one-month sabbatical. The couple are taking their leave after child development specialist Erika Christakis -- who was to teach a spring course entitled "The Concept of the Problem Child" -- responded to an October e-mail from the school recommending culturally sensitive costumes for Halloween by encouraging students to go their own way and not be afraid to be "a little bit obnoxious."

Quick Take: The Chipotle situation has reached Def Con Gross. According to Deadspin, "at least half of the Boston College men's basketball team and several other students are suffering from gastrointestinal problems" after eating at a campus Chipotle. At least eight b-ball players are confirmed to have E. coli in the midst of nationwide E. coli outbreak that had shuttered more than 40 restaurants in the Pacific Northwest. In a statement, Chipotle said the Cleveland Circle restaurant in Boston has been closed but that there is "no evidence to suggest" that it is tied to previous E. coli incidents.
