A$AP Rocky is known for his flows, but he’s also celebrated for his fashion sense. And in an recent video interview, the MC recently gave fans a look at what it's like to go shopping with Flacko.
So, how does he shop for clothes? Is it at expensive clothing stores? Is it with a stylist? Nah, none of that is necessary.
"I like just shopping for myself,” he said while shopping at Maxfield in Los Angeles, in a video package Complex posted online on Monday (Apr. 13). "In the midst of shopping, I stumble upon some cool brands. I’ll go to thrift stores. I’ll go to eBay. It makes me happy like music does.”
Rocky went on with the fashion advice by discussing a common misconception consumers have about clothing.
"[People] think if you paid a lot of money for it then it’s good,” he explained. "That’s not true.”
In fact, A$AP echoed those statements in a February interview with Complex, noting he had more style when he was broke.
Still, you can’t get it twisted. Rocky’s also down to spend some money for items he thinks are great. So, in the more recent Complex clip, he cops a Margiela sweater and a Balenciaga tee-shirt for a grand total of $1,090.
Aside from those brands, Flacko had some kind words to share about clothes from The Soloist and Rick Owens. However, that changed when talk turned to Kanye West’s good friend Virgil Abloh’s Off-White clothing company. “I don’t even care to speak on that,” he said.
In October, Rocky did have words for Abloh. He actually fired a few shots at Hood By Air and Been Trill, which Abloh worked on.
Rocky has his own denim collection that was recently announced. Outside of fashion, the MC is also readying his next album, reportedly titled At.Long.Last.A$AP, which he spoke about in an interview with MTV News that you can watch below.
