Predicting 2014's Hollywood-Inspired Halloweeners

They are coming.

By Amanda Bell

It's October, everybody, so prepare for an onslaught of pumpkin spice-flavored everything, fall foliage clogging up your rain gutters and, of course, the trick-or-treaters.

Whether they're two feet tall and at your doorstep hitting you up for some candy or full-grown and guzzling down some spiked apple cider at the bar(s), Halloweeners are going to be out in full force soon enough, and we can already foresee the pop culture-centric costume-age coming.

The past year's movie slate will especially impact 2014's installment of the Everybody Dress Up Game, and we've got a few predictions as to how.

For starters, the kiddies still aren't gonna "Let It Go" when it comes to their favorite new Disney peeps. Brace yourself for lots and lots of tiny Elsas running around this year.

You may even see some adults getting in on the "Frozen" game, since there's a Sexy Olaf costume that actually exists in the world. Face. Palm.

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles"

Little ones'll also be capitalizing on the return of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" en masse as well. So, yeah. Keep an eye out for flying nunchucks, guys.

"Saving Mr. Banks"

Meanwhile, the do-it-yourselfers of the world (heyyyy, Pinterest People!) are gonna have a field day with Mary Poppins being brought back into the fold a la "Saving Mr. Banks."

Bet @rcmaclean I could throw together a solid Mary Poppins costume in less than ten minutes... Eight minutes later..

And the "Maleficent" look should be fun fodder for craftier folks as well.

"Fifty Shades of Grey"

The punniest people will probably enjoy a play on words, like this guy's take on "Fifty Shades of Grey."

Meanwhile, the Throwback Thursday traditionalists might try to rekindle old times and whip out a "Godzilla" costume to honor the beast's umpteenth return to the silver screen this year ... and the fact that they've totally been down with Big G since way back when, see? #TBT

2 days. Even though this costume resembles the one movie that was awful.. shows the fandom from beginning. #Godzilla

"American Hustle"

The hoity toitiest film fans will take their cinematically-inspired costumery up a notch and don some garb inspired by "Snowpiercer" or perhaps even gather for an "American Hustle"-esque ensemble (Note: This could also work for the DIY crowd, with just some rockin' '70s/'80s threads and a sweet set of hair curlers).

And don't be too alarmed if you see a mustachioed dude making out with his cell phone. He's not necessarily a d-bag; he might be doing a "Her" imitation.

"The Fault In Our Stars"

Teen readers should have a lot of fun waxing dystopian this year, thanks to the "Hunger Games" sequels, "Divergent" and "The Maze Runner" ... but they also might opt for a sappy lovers routine and go as Hazel and Gus from "The Fault In Our Stars." Okay? Okay.

"Guardians of the Galaxy"

Budgeters of the time and money variety might be seen taping up some white trash bags to become "Big Hero 6." (Seriously, a few trash bags and some stuffing should do the trick here.) And even the comic book crowd could still have a Marvel-ous time a little low-budget Groot gear.

"The Lego Movie"

Don't be surprised if you see some "Lego Movie" lovers, young and old, hitting the streets.

"22 Jump Street"

And, finally, brace for some serious bromance of the "22 Jump Street" variety this season, people.
