Instagram recently made an exciting announcement: 'Grammers can use hashtags to search not only words and phrases, but emojis, too. Yay, pizza emoji! Can't wait to spend hours scrolling through those delicious results.

After the announcement, however, users noticed one seriously glaring omission: the super popular eggplant emoji is UNSEARCHABLE.

This is problematic for several reasons. I mean, not only is eggplant delicious, but it's a great source of fiber, vitamin B and... okay, maybe we're kidding ourselves. We all know that eggplant is one of the foods that also resembles something... else (if we're being really, really generous, but I guess that's beside the point).

When we text our friends the eggplant emoji, we're rarely talking about dinner. We all know what the sacred *eggplant* means, and apparently, Instagram does, too.

THEY'RE ONTO US.

Instagram confirmed to MTV News that they've officially made the eggplant emoji hashtag "unsearchable." Why? Because the eggplant emoji is one of the symbols consistently associated with photos and videos that violate their policies. Do we really need to spell it out for you?

I guess that's what we get for having dirty minds, America.
