Rapper Capone Grounded By Pot In NC Airport Hotel

MC charged with drug possession with intent to sell and distribute.

Rapper Capone was busted Thursday morning in Greensboro, North Carolina, when police allegedly found 49 grams of marijuana in his hotel room. The MC, half of the hip-hop duo Capone-N-Noreaga, was charged with drug possession with intent to sell and distribute, according to a police spokesperson.

Capone (real name Kiam Holley), 25, was allegedly found with the controlled substance, as well as drug paraphernalia, in his room at the Greensboro-High Point Marriott hotel, located on Piedmont Triad International Airport property. Airport police officers responded to a call made from the hotel at approximately 5 a.m. Capone was released later that day on a $1,500 secured bond. Details on his next scheduled hearing weren't available at press time.

Violator Management and Capone's label, Def Jam Recordings, had no comment on the incident.

Capone-N-Noreaga were at the A&T Student Union in Greensboro, North Carolina, on Wednesday to promote Noreaga's new solo album, Grimey ... God's Favorite, due December 4 (see [article id="1449520"]"Noreaga Hopes To Leap The Borders of the 'Hood In A Single Bound"[/article]). Nore is scheduled to appear at a Philadelphia radio concert, along with P. Diddy, Busta Rhymes and DMX, on Friday.

In September, Capone and two associates were allegedly involved in fight at a Queens, New York, nightclub that resulted in gunfire. The rapper and one man were charged with second-degree assault, while the other was hit with a possession of marijuana charge (see [article id="1448748"]"Capone Arrested After Being Fired Upon By Police"[/article]). A hearing for Capone's charge is scheduled for November 14.
