Kanye West Still Perplexed By Fish Sticks Joke On South Park Finale

By Sowmya Krishnamurthy

Fish Sticks returns! After being called a gay fish on South Park in 2009, Kanye West was once again featured on the animated show this week. A cartoon version of Ye (not voiced by him) appeared in last night's season finale to defend the reputation of his love Kim Kardashian and denounce rumors that she's a Hobbit.

Kanye appeared on-screen as the continuation of 2009's "fishsticks" meme. "OK, first of all, I am not Aquaman, I am a recovering gay fish," said the voice of Kanye. "Yes, I have met Aquaman, I have hung out with Aquaman, but the only thing I have in common with Aquaman is my love of the sea."

As South Park fans remember, back in season 13, Yeezy became a gay fish after he mistook an aquatic penis joke. Yeezy was perplexed, being a genius and the "voice of a generation," and returned to the sea.

The real-life Kanye found the animated joke pretty funny. " 'South Park' murdered me last night, and it's pretty funny. It hurts my feelings, but what can you expect from 'South Park?'" he wrote on his blog at the time. "I actually have been working on my ego. ... Having the crazy ego is played out at this point in my life and career. I used to use it to build up my esteem when nobody believed in me. Now that people do believe and support my music, the best response is 'Thank you' instead of 'I told you so!'
