Lady Gaga Is Teaming Up With Tech Companies To Battle Online Harassment

"Hack Harassment" is looking to make the web a safer place.

Lady Gaga wants to make the world a better place. At least the digital world. Gaga has teamed up with tech companies to battle online harassment. Intel, Vox Media, Re/Code and the Born This Way Foundation are banding together to form Hack Harassment, a initiative that will "provide safer, more inclusive online experiences," said Intel CEO Brian Krzanich.

"We need to remember that behind every device, game, sensor or network is a real person with real feelings and real needs for safety," he said. A need for safety that 84 percent of people surveyed believes extends beyond the bounds of the Internet.

Hack Harassment is addressing an issue that both sides of the cyber wall feel is important. Sixty percent of people that work in tech don't think the industry is doing enough to combat online harassment. Hack Harassment's hackathons, aimed at promoting awareness and increasing accountability, will be a start.

Once again, Mother Monster is looking out for her Little ones.
