Dame Dash Is Sorry For Pouring Champagne On Women In Jay Z's 'Big Pimpin' Video
Dame Dash isn't the same guy he was 15 years ago when he and Jay Z where riding high running Roc-A-Fella Records and making millions together. And now that he's more mature and reflective, Dash is apologetic for some of his actions: particularly the time he poured champagne on a bunch of models in Hov's 1999 video for "Big Pimpin'."
"You do something when you're 20 and you're still paying for it when you're 40. I was a completely different person than I was when I was 20...At 20 you don't see that, you think 40 is never coming," Dame told Hip Hop Motivation in a video interview that was published to YouTube on Wednesday.
"There's things that I see that I did on videos when I was younger that I be like, 'Damn I was buggin','" he continued. "Champagne Dame, that dude, he be buggin', when he was younger. I don't even know that guy."
In the 15-year old video, Jay, Dame and their Roc-A-Fella crew throw a party on a yacht and go to Trinidad for Carnival. There is no shortage of bikini clad women, and a few got alcohol poured on them by the music mogul. "If my son ever did that I would be applaud. I wouldn't want nobody to do that to my daughter or nobody that I care about," he said. "Sorry to all the girls that I poured champagne [on]."
Dame also apologized for his materialistic ways and the emphasis he used to put on money back when he ran the Roc. Now, he's more into being a family man. "It's not about money, it's about quality of living," he said.
