People Are Really Pissed About Instagram's Latest Update

'Why tho?' — Everyone who uses Instagram

Well, this is a bummer.

Thanks to a new Instagram update, the order of photos and videos in your feed will no longer be chronological, but based on "the likelihood you’ll be interested in the content" and other factors. Basically, if Instagram's new algorithm doesn't believe that you really enjoy certain posts, you won't see them -- even if you follow those accounts. 😓

The only way to get around this change is to turn on notifications for the accounts you really care about -- which means you'll get a push notification for each and every one of their posts. 😓😓😓

This news has most of Instagram's 300 million users in a tizzy.

Celebrities, who use Instagram to connect with their fans, are also none-too-pleased about this update. Many have taken to the app to express their displeasure, including Ellie Goulding and Ruby Rose.

Instagram used to be the great equalizer: The quality of your photos and your photos alone would either lead you to Insta-fame or cast you into the deep blue sea of Insta-nothingness. But, like Facebook, Instagram believes that robots hold the answer to our happiness.

For its part, Instagram is listening to feedback during this great time of transition, and they know people are not happy:

So, feel free to hit them up via their Twitter if you feel as strongly as everyone else.
