Fatboy Slim Will Reenter The World Of Cinema With A Very Handsome Collaborator

The producer has a new 'weapon of choice'

It’s been 15 years since Fatboy Slim swept the 2001 VMAs with his iconic “Weapon of Choice” video starring Christopher Walken. Now, the English producer has another big Hollywood collaboration in the works.

In an interview with NME, Slim (a.k.a. Norman Quentin Cook) revealed that he has a song with Idris Elba in the pipes. The pair wrote it together for Elba’s upcoming action flick, Bastille Day, which hits theaters this summer.

Besides being a fantastic actor and the best James Bond we have yet to see onscreen, Elba has also been building up a music career of his own. He’s got a couple of EPs and an album inspired by Nelson Mandela under his belt, and most recently, he lent guest vocals to the Macklemore & Ryan Lewis song “Dance Off” from their most recent album, This Unruly Mess I’ve Made. But this is the first time he’ll be soundtracking one of his own movies.

Cook met Elba after seeing him DJ several times. We can only hope that these two are cooking up a dance video for the history books.
