Linkin Park Cancel China Tour, Las Vegas Show Due To Chester Bennington's Back Injury

Band's Web site says lead singer is under 'doctor's orders' not to travel.

Linkin Park are canceling their China tour due to lead singer Chester Bennington's back injury, which had also forced them to cancel this Monday's show in Las Vegas. According to a statement on the band's Web site, Bennington's doctor ordered him to refrain from "traveling or any physical activities." There was no word on how he suffered the injury.

"Linkin Park sincerely regrets this unavoidable cancellation and apologizes to fans for any disappointment caused," the statement reads. "Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase."

The band had organized the five concerts throughout mainland China, Macau and Taipei, Taiwan, as fundraising efforts to benefit victims of May's earthquake in Sichuan Province. Despite the tour's cancellation, the band has found a way to help donate to the devastated region with the help of its concert promoter, as well as the World Bank.

"Thanks to generous donations from concert promoter Emma Ticketmaster and Linkin Park, funds will still be contributed to the band's nonprofit organization, Music for Relief, and matched by the World Bank. These funds will benefit post-earthquake reconstruction projects in the Sichuan province initiated by Chinese Civil Society Organizations."

Linkin Park, who won a Best Rock Video VMA this year for "Shadow of the Day," were also just announced as one of the bands on the [article id="1596357"]"Twilight" movie soundtrack[/article]. They've contributed the song "Leave Out All the Rest," to the album, which also includes song's from Paramore, Muse, Perry Farrell and Collective Soul. The album hits stores November 4.
