Melissa McCarthy And Sandra Bullock On 'The Heat' Set: 'Are We Hammered?'

McCarthy recalls a bar scene that got out of control, during Sneak Peek Week, leading up to Sunday's MTV Movie Awards.

For the latest edition of [article id="1704257"]Sneak Peek Week[/article], leading up to Sunday's MTV Movie Awards, we knew things we're going to get hot.

That's what happens when you invite star Melissa McCarthy and director Paul Feig from the upcoming comedy " The Heat" to debut a [article id="1705476"]never-before-seen clip[/article] and to sit down for an exclusive 30-minute interview.

But the action onstage at Universal CityWalk was nothing compared to the shenanigans that were going on during the filming of "The Heat." During one scene in a bar, McCarthy and her co-star Sandra Bullock got a little out of control. The scene called for the two partners to take a few shots, but things quickly got out of control.

"At one point, Sandy and I were like, 'Are we hammered? What's happening?' We just got so punchy and crazy," McCarthy said. "At one point, I knew somebody had tape, and I was like, 'Remember that thing where you tape your nose up?' And the next thing I know, we were bound in tape and literally choking."

A lot of the insanity that came out of the scene wasn't scripted, including an unchoreographed dance sequence. "We had the option of having a lovely choreographer come in," McCarthy said. "But we thought, 'This should be terrible. This should be eight drinks in for these poor women who do usually not let loose like this.' "

"The Heat" tells the story of an odd couple of law enforcement. McCarthy is the tough-as-nails Boston cop who doesn't get along with the straight-laced, by-the-book FBI agent (Bullock) she teams with to bring down a notorious drug lord.

Be sure to tune in to the 2013 MTV Movie Awards, hosted by McCarthy's "Bridesmaids" co-star Rebel Wilson, this Sunday at 9 p.m. ET.

"The Heat" opens in theaters everywhere June 28.
