Everyone take a page out of Lil Wayne's playbook.
At the stroke of midnight on Saturday -- Independence Day, duh! -- Weezy dropped his brand-new LP, Free Weezy Album, after teasing it back in March and hyping it on social media as serious fire. And boy, this thing is hot.
The Free Weezy Album spans 15 tracks over 65 minutes of music and features appearances from Wiz Khalifa, Young Jeezy, Cory Gunz, HoodyBaby and Bibi Bourelly -- aka the 20-year-old German girl who wrote Rihanna's "Bitch Better Have My Money." With a leadoff track like "Glory," how can this new album be anything but momentous?
Sure, Weezy's had a bit of a falling out with his label, Cash Money. But the dude doesn't sound down at all on this record. I mean, we wouldn't be bummed either if we regularly racked up $100,000 for 15 minutes of raps. It's just nice to hear some fresh, bombastic new Weezy tunes after a hiatus.
Right now, the album is available exclusively on Tidal. And if it's any indication of the road Weezy is on for the release of his long-awaited Tha Carter V LP, things are lookin' and soundin' pretty good.
