Ser Loras From 'Game Of Thrones' Is Now A Marvel Superhero: Watch

Netflix debuted its intense first look at ‘Marvel’s Iron Fist’

Ser Loras, too pure for this world, may have been viciously killed off (in rather spectacular fashion) by Cersei Lannister in the season finale of Game of Thrones, but don’t worry: We’ll be seeing a lot more of actor Finn Jones, starting with Marvel’s Iron Fist.

Jones landed the lead role of Daniel Rand (a.k.a. Marvel superhero Iron Fist) back in March, and on Thursday (July 21), Netflix gave San Diego Comic-Con goers the first look at Jones in action as Iron Fist. Iron Fist is an origin story of sorts for the Marvel superhero and kung fu master. The 50-second teaser previews the Rand family’s ill-fated trip to the magical city of K’un-Lun (somewhere in the Himalayas), and the denizens of K’un-Lun who save young Daniel from certain death.

The teaser trailer also shows us a grown-up Rand wandering the streets of New York City and cycling in and out of psychiatric wards. Clearly, Rand’s journey to becoming Iron Fist, Hell’s Kitchen kung fu master, is anything but smooth sailing.

Iron Fist was the product of America’s obsession with kung fu movies in the ’70s, so expect the series to up the ante when it comes to Netflix’s strong track record of superb fight sequences.

Iron Fist is set to debut in 2017, though no official date has been set.
