It happens over and over again -- the thought creeps into our heads that Adele is too talented, successful and iconic to be on the same level as us mere mortals. But Adele always proves she is, in fact, just like us.

Adele cries to her music too.

“In order for me to feel confident with one of my songs, it has to really move me,” Adele told the New York Times. “That’s how I know that I’ve written a good song for myself — it’s when I start crying. It’s when I just break out in [expletive] tears in the vocal booth or in the studio, and I’ll need a moment to myself.”

The "Hello" singer has an uncanny ability to gauge the quality of her own music, but that came at a personal price while writing 25. Adele knew a high standard was set with the best-selling 21, and the challenge of following up with a higher quality record almost proved too much to bear in the writing process.

“I didn’t think I had it in me to write another record," she continued. "I didn’t know if I should. Because of how successful 21 was, I thought, ‘Maybe everyone’s happy with that being the last thing from me. Maybe I should bow out on a high.’”

Luck be a lady, however, and that lady's name is Adele.

The vocal virtuoso rose to the task at hand and our relationship with Adele continues into a new realm of record-breaking achievements with the release of "Hello." The 27.7 million views received within 24 hours of the music video's release is just one to name.

Ironically, the singer thought she had slipped into irrelevancy after peeking at Twitter to get a sense of her 'X Factor' teaser's reception. The teaser was the very first glimpse of her return to music and featured a brief snippet of "Hello."

After only seeing three tweets buzzing about her return, she panicked.

“I was like, ‘Oh, no, I’ve missed my window,’” the singer recalled. “‘Oh, no, it’s too late. The comeback’s gone. No one cares.’”

Adele, being new to social media, didn't realize that there were actually thousands of tweets making their rounds. Her boyfriend lent his social media assistance and revealed how ecstatic the internet truly was over the Grammy-winner's return.

That's what loving boyfriends do, after all.
