DMX Missed His Radio City Music Hall Show Because He Was Behind Bars

Police arrested the rapper on several outstanding warrants.

DMX's gruff, raspy voice made him kind of a hip-hop hunk in the early 2000s. But for just as long, the rapper has been more well-known for his rap sheet than for his raps.

On Friday night (June 26), he added one more — being arrested on his way to a scheduled performance at Radio City Music Hall in New York.

The charge? About $400,000 in unpaid child support in Erie County, N.Y., plus an outstanding arrest warrant for jumping bail in White Plains, plus an allegation of being an aggravated unlicensed motor vehicle operator in Yonkers, his home city.

And there's more. Back in April, X was named as a suspect in a Newark, N.J. gas-station robbery in which someone — purportedly DMX himself — stole $3200 right out of a 21-year-old man's hand. The rapper denied those allegations (and quoted the Book Of Isaiah in the process).

While fans at Radio City didn't get DMX, the "Masters Of Ceremony" show proceeded as planned with rappers like Mase and Rakim still taking the stage. And X? He's out on bail for now.
